| SDP makes electoral alliance with JKNUF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 25: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) and newly formed political organization of Kashmiri Pandits, J&K National United Front (JKNUF) have entered into an election pact for the ensuing elections to the state legislative Assembly in J&K. This was announced in a jointly organized press conference today at Jammu by SDP president Dr Darakhshan Andrabi and the JKNUF national convenor R K Mattoo and its working president A K Deewani. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi termed this pact as the political alliance of nationalistic forces who have come together to fight for restoration of age old glorious traditions of Hindu- Muslim- Sikh Itehaad which has been a causality at the hands of the parochial politics of divide and rule. Dr Darakhshan said that this pact will show its magical positive results in practical poll fray in whole of the valley of Kashmir and it will again provide a concrete practical base to true Kashmiriat and pave way to the grand success of this honest alliance. R K Mattoo said that the politics of the state, especially of the valley, has been in limbo for decades now particularly in the last two decades and we resolve to imbibe and restore together the lost confidence and faith of all communities in the political system of the state. This pact and consensus was reached after a series of talks at Delhi and Jammu between the leadership of both the groups and the common commitment of both the groups to national interest and the commitment for the people of this composite state called Jammu & Kashmir, he added. A K Deewani said that the minority community in the state, especially in the valley, has suffered a lot due to the mass migration two decades ago and unfortunately all the political groups of the state and the country played political tricks only with this displaced community and SDP’s commitment for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits has brought us together with is poll pact. |
