Plantation Drive in Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College Jammu

Jammu, Aug 14: Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College and Hospital Jammu in collaboration with Social Forestry Department and Aroyga Bharti today conducted plantation drive in premises of the institution. During the drive more than 200 environment friendly medical herbals Orna mental plants of different species viz A chinar, Chinaroze, Amalas silverook Mongra, Arum etc were planted.
The drive was kick started by Dr.Roshan Jaggi, Director Social Forestry accompanied by Mr.Mohinder Gupta, Regional Director Social Forestry Sh.Shashi Kant, Secretary Arogya Bharti Jammu. Dr.Rakesh K.Gupta, Principal, Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College and Hospital. n Jammu in his welcome address said that this is the initiative to carry forward the “Green J&K Drive” inaugurated by His Excellency the Governor of J&K UT on and the instruction of worthy Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education to keep the students, Staff motivated by the such plantation Drive. Dr.Gupta also informed that these plants shall be geo tagged and owned/nurtured individually by Faculty , students and staff etc. In order to create an healthy atmosphere and environment cycling for two days in the institution has been initiated. Speaking on the occasion Roshan Jaggi stressed the need of the Government Which definitely lesser the emission of carbon dioxide. He praised the initiative of the Institution in building a go green atmosphere in the college. He advised the students to nurture these plants which will go a long way when in future years while serving in the institution to see those trees equally growing with them.
Shashi Kant, secretary Arogya Bharti while speaking on the occasion explained the values / productivity of these plants and how it effects the Arogya Bharti shall definitely feel pleasure in near future also by donating more and more such plants.
