| Commuters force to face jamming at Lakhanpur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Oct 25 After coming into limelight number of scandals in the state the latest to enter into list is fruit scandal. Many fruit trucks which are being supplied from Srinagar to other parts of India have chosen the safer place to avail the exemption of tax from the Lakhanpur as it is the place where fruits of one truck is replaced into two trucks and after passing the gate of Lakhanpur it again reloaded into one truck, resulting a heavy jam on the roads, but authorities at the helm of affairs are watching the drama as a mute spectator. Giving details an officer of Excise and Toll Tax on the condition of anonymity said,”nine tone of fruit truck is allowed to pass toll free through the Lakhanpur Toll Tax post. A truck of 18 tone fruits is loaded from Kashmir which is on reaching here reloaded into two trucks i,e 9 tone of fruits into each truck. Then after passing through the Lakahanpur these trucks again reloaded into one truck for the supply to other parts of the country. He again said that in this process of loading and reloading one truck takes about two hours” .Keeping this process in mind one can easily guess how commuters have to face the wrath of traffic jamming. |
