| Backward classes to keep way from parties | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 26: The Backward Classes Federation of India has vowed to keep away from all major political parties in the ensuing elections and vote only for the candidates if they belong to the recognized oppressed classes. As per a press release, a decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the central executive committee meeting of the Backward Classes Federation of India held under the chairmanship of Nek Ram Dofara to discuss course of action for all the O.B.Cs, S.Cs & S.Ts in the forthcoming Elections of State Assambly. According to handout, it was resolved unanimously that not even a single person belonging to Backward Classes viz. O.B.Cs, S.Cs & S.Ts shall vote for or contribute even a single penny as funds to RSS, BJP, Congress, N.C., P.D.P. & JKNPP, come what might; and even if there would be no candidate belonging to O.B.Cs, S.Cs or S.Ts in a constituency, the people belonging to Backward Classes must abstain from voting, but never cast a vote in favour of any person belonging to so called High Caste Hindus vis-à-vis Muslims or in favour of Political Parties having Top Leadership from so called High Caste Hindus vis-à-vis Muslims. It was further resolved that as the tenure of present team of B.C.F.I. is over, the fresh elections would be held on Sunday, 9th of November, 2008 and Backward Classes candidates would also be nominated on the same day to provide alternatives to the people of Backward Classes so that their votes are not wasted in as many constituencies as possible. The candidates so nominated shall also be empowered to launch Political Party at the earliest having its identity and entity different from B.C.F.I., but the said party should be fully dedicated to the cause of Backward Classes. Lastly, the Convener of B.C.F.I. Adv. Ashok Kumar Basotra issued the “Mool-Mantra” for all the people belonging to Backward Classes and the same was adopted by CEC of BCFI. |
