| KP’s be aware of self style leaders of community: Minority Forum | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 26: The J&K Minority Forum has taken a strong exception of the moves of some self styled Kashmiri Pandit (KP) leaders who have suddenly become active since the announcement of elections in the state were announced. The members expressed surprise and concern that these aspiring leaders based in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi are now exploiting the cause of those Kashmiri Pandits who have been languishing in the camps for the last 20 years and are now seeking mandates from various political parties like BJP, Lok Jan Shakti and National Conference in the name of suffering Kashmiri Pandits. As per press release the reported move of one such Kashmiri Pandit Moti Kaul, a former President of Bombay Kashmiri Pandit Sabha joining BJP just on the eve of elections looks highly intriguing and motivated. It is surprising how a man of Moti Kauls background could convince a national party as he is based in Mumbai and apparently has no standing in J&K state. It is surprising how BJP ignored Moti Kauls association with Hurriyat leaders like Shabbir Shah, Maulvi Farooq and Saleem Geelani, the release added. Addressing a press conference jointly by minority forum president Ravinder Kaul and its joint secretary Roshan Lal Rania said that Kaul had shocked the whole KP community last year when he was seen hand in hand with Shabbir Shah and Mirwaiz Omar at the Janmashtami function in Srinagar last year. These acts were meant to give a clean chit to separatist leaders who were responsible for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. Moti is alleged to have financed many of the activities of the separatists. At the time of Amarnath agitation he was part of a counter force in Kashmir namely J&K Peace Council headed by Hurriyat and having its topmost leaders as members, they said, and added. Kaul has been allegedly collecting questionable activities to by himself a political mandate over the miseries f hapless community members. Another high profile bureaucrat turned politician, known for his apathy and neglect of Cups when he was in power community. Beside there is another aspirant from R K Mattoo who ahs suddenly thrown hat in the lection ring. There are 15 constituencies wee KPs are in sufficient numbers and can influence the outcome of election results and those parties who do not respect the sentiments of the KP community can suffers reverses. Leaders said, as such we caution the community members against the machinations of these self styled leaders who sonly interest is to encash the sufferings of the community members. We appeal the community to support only those candidates who have worked for their upliftment all these years and are rooted in ground. |
