| SAYSS demands enhanced security | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 26: After receiving alleged threat letter from banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti (SAYSS) has today demanded enhanced security cover to all its the members. Leela Karan Sharma, convener SAYSS told reporters that earlier he received three threatening calls but he took it lightly “but yesterday I received a letter from SIMI threatening of dire consequences and one of the copy of the threatening letter was sent to IG Jammu K Rajindera for more security”. Shooting salvos at the politicians and other top job officers he said that they have adequate security where as he has been given only two PSOs. 'Government should provide adequate security to the members of the Sangharsh Samiti following threatening calls and a letter,' Sharma said and mentioned that two Private Security Officers (PSOs) have been provided to him. 'But I want all secure from the anti national elements be it Samiti members or the people of state thus demand administration to take serious note of this letter, he said. Meanwhile Convener SAYSS Sharma further said that Sangharsh Samiti would actively participate in the electoral process and cast their votes to the candidates with ideology of nationalism but added Samiti will not campaign for any of the party. The SAYSS convenor also reminded the state administration that some of the demands agreed between the Samiti and the government, are yet to be considered as two-month duration is going to be end on October 31 and further course of action would be decided by the committee members soon. |
