2nd dose Covid vaccination drive concluded at SMVDU

KATRA, Aug 26: SMDVU conducted 2-day long, 2nd dose COVID Vaccination Drive for age group of 18 to 45 years, to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to keep university virus free in the state under active chairmanship of Padma Shri, Prof RK Sinha. The SMVDU vaccination team of Dr Anju Sharma, In-charge Medical Officer and Surinder Kumar, Security Officer led by Nodal Officer, Dr Balbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare, successfully completed the drive covering more than 460 participants amidst COVID guidelines and social distancing.
All faculty and staff members along with their dependants residing in university got vaccinated. Students staying in university, all members of outsourced employees including house-keeping, security, and mess staff along with vendors and constructions workers have also taken the 2nd dose of vaccination in this drive. This mega vaccination drive could be possible with the sincere support of Dr Rajiv Sharma CMO Reasi, Dr Gopal Dutt BMO Katra. Vice Chancellor Professor R K Sinha and Registrar Nagender Singh Jamwal, who complimented CMO Reasi and BMO Katra, Dr Balbir Singh, Dr Anju Sharma, Incharge MO, SMVDU and her team (Shilpa, Basanti, Vijay Kumar, Vinod Kumar and Manish Sawhney) for providing continuous support to all stake holders of the SMVDU in facing COVID pandemic challenges. Special thanks was conveyed to Vaccinator team of Swarna Devi and Raj Kumari, CHC Katra, Rishi Kumar, Kundan Vijay, Avdhesh Gupta, Surinder Singh, Dr Neha Sethi, Dr Gurpreet Soodan, Amanpreet Kour and Jaswant Singh. Proactive measures such as thermal scanning, regular sanitization, social distancing, and controlled movement to campus with RTPCR reports etc. are being undertaken regularly to ensure the safe stay of all residents of SMVDU Campus.
