GCOE organizes webinar on Women's Equality Day

Jammu, Aug 26: On Women's Equality Day, Govt College of Education Jammu organized thought provoking virtual webinar, which was attended by a large number of students. The webinar was the joint initiative of NSS unit of Government College of Education and Women Development Cell. The program was adroitly conducted by NSS Nodal Officer Dr. Shubhra Jamwal along with NSS volunteers.The resource persons, for the day, were Mrs. Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary (Sub Judge), District Legal Services Authority, Reasi, and Ms. Ankita Sharma, Student at National Law University Shimla, Popular Speaker of India Awardee, International Debater, and Mooter. Prof. Sarita Dogra officially welcomed all and highlighted different aspects of women's rights.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kulvinder Kour (Principal of GCOE) highlighted the importance of organizing such events and stressed that today women’s equality has grown to mean much more than just sharing the right to vote. Empowering words and viewpoints on Women's Equality were delivered through a speech by the resource persons Mrs. Rekha Kapoor Nischal and Ms. Ankita Sharma.
They said that a nation can progress and attain higher development growth only when both men and women are entitled to equal opportunities. Prof. Rubina Yasmeen presented a beautiful Nazm, which was applauded by every participant. The organizing committee of the event includes Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof. Sarita Dogra, and Prof. Seema Kumari.
