DC Jammu reviews patient care in Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar at Rogi Kalyan Samiti meeting

JAMMU, Aug 26: District Development Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg today reviewed patient care facilities in Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu here at a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti.
Among others present in the meeting included ADC Satish Sharma; Chief Medical Officer Jammu JP Singh, Medical Superintendent Dr. Indra Bhatyal besides other senior officers of the concerned departments. The Medical Superintendent, while welcoming the participants, highlighted the achievements and work done report of the hospital.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that the hospital examined and treated 3500 Covud patients and conducted 75 thousand Corona tests including 39183 RTPCR and 35164 RAT during the first and second wave of Covid-19.
She also informed that during the month of April and July 2021 around 10000 patients other than Covid patients were also provided treatment in the hospital.
The Superintendent also apprised the Chair regarding certain requirements and issues of the Hospital including repair/renovation of old block of the Hospital, provision of new bore well, repairing of drains, establishment of RT-PCR lab, up-gradation of toilets, repairing of boundary wall, uninterrupted power supply to the hospital etc.
After detailed discussions, the Deputy Commissioner gave in principle approval for the minor repairs/ renovation works which are under 1lakh rupees.
Deputy Commissioner also directed Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent to work out vacancy position in the hospital so that the same can be filled on priority. Anshul Garg, while examining the availability of medicines in the hospital, enquired about the status of procurement of medicines and directed authorities to speed up the process.
He also directed the Executive Engineers to complete the pending repair and renovation besides resolve the drainage issue in and around the facility. He also directed the authorities to make the hospital differently abled friendly and identify place for Jan Aushadhi Shop which is more approachable to the patients/attendees.
The Deputy Commissioner assured of full support from district administration for the up-gradation of the hospital including installation of Air Conditioners and allotment of funds for other works.
