8/26/2021 11:18:18 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 26: The College Teachers’ are protesting against the apathetic attitude of govt for their long pending demands viz, Restoration of Advanced Increments for higher qualifications, Regular DPCs with monetary effect from the date of eligibility of placements, Adoption of UGC Regulations-2018 by issuing the much awaited Statutory Order(SO) for the same and Adoption of Study Leave for the pursuit of PhD as per UGC Regulations-2018.On 19th and 20th August,2021, the college teachers observed Pen Down strike across the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and now they are continuing their protest by wearing black ribbons on their Arms. All the college teachers are attending to their duties in the college but have worn black ribbon on their arms as a sign of resentment against the lackadaisical approach of govt. Towards the aforementioned genuine issues of College Teachers’ Rakesh Jasrotia, President College Teachers Association (CTA), said that we have represented our issues to every concerned authority viz the Financial Commissioner, Advisors and even to LG but haven’t been given relief despite there being clear cut directions and minutes of meeting. He further appealed to Deptt for immediate convening of DPC for placements to next higher grades and giving monetary effect from the date of eligibility of placement. He further appealed to govt to resolve other issues immediately as we don’t want to halt the various ongoing processes associated with the interests of students.
