EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Aug 26: Vishal Khatri Sabha (VKS) on Thursday appealed LG administration to fulfill all genuine demands of the general public on priority in absence of elected govt in J&KUT. This was observed by VKS president at a meeting of Sabha organized to review the follow-up action of the demands made by the general public before concerned authorities. All DDCs should send fortnightly report to the Divisional Commissioner office for further course of necessary action, added Seth. Seth reiterated full faith in Lt Governor’s administration’s commitment in ensuring holistic development across Jammu region. He demanded concerned departments for assuaging socio-economic and political aspirations of the people and undertaking development on a massive scale to steer J&K to peace and prosperity.
Seth expressed serious concern over failure in providing basic amenities to Jammuites like 24x7 electricity and regular supply of drinking water. They also demanded compensation for the small businessmen and industrial labourers who suffered financially during Covid-19 pandemic lockdown after its breakout. Govt should fix responsibility on the officials for their failure to provide 24/7 electricity supply in Jammu during the summer season. Seth said that the Covid-19 has affected normal life of the people weakening them financially as many businesses closed during this period. “The govt should give relief compensation to shopkeepers, small businessmen, kiosks of fast food, vegetable and fruit vendors, industrial labourers, daily wagers and others who have lost the source of their earning and suffered losses due to lockdown after Covid breakout,” he said.
