| “Gender Sensitization” programme underway at CWS Parade College | | |
Jammu / Sep 12, 2006 A weeklong training programme on “Gender Sensitization” is getting underway at Centre for Women Study (CWS) Parade College. About one thousand students of the college would going to participate in this programme. The programme, which was started yesterday, aimed at creating awareness among the women about the women’s equality and development in the contemporary society. Dr. Shashi Kaul, Director CWS delivered the inaugural lecture, in which she laid the emphasis on the need to sensitize modern women about their rights. She said that the programme would help the students to broaden their vision about life and inculcate the sense of consciousness, commitment and competence among them. Dr. Richa Tanwar, Director CWS Kurukshetra was the special invitee on the occasion. In her address, she also spoke in length over the need of sensitizing women folk. She gave her valuable suggestions over the subject matter. A K Angurana, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department also visited the centre on its inaugural day and appreciated the activities initiated by the department. He also presented his valuable guidance and directed the centre to start a research project on the sex determination and extension activities on women entrepreneurship. Meanwhile, on the second day of the programme today an open discussion was held and student’s point of view was also taken into the consideration.
