Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Aug 31: Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban along with Kunfer Sarpanch Dilwar Ali accompanied team took stock of the grievances faced by the homeless victims as the result of Landslide and sinking of land which was triggered due to the unscientific cutting of slopes by CPPL Company and NHAI at Kunfer (Ramban). Ashok has demanded to the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir to direct the concerned authorities that the immediate proper compensation, rehabilitation, food item and cooking gas should be provided on war footing as winters are approaching.
In a statement issued here, he said that the affected people of the Kunfer (Ramban) have become homeless and also lost their agricultural land due to the sinking of major portion of land at Kunfer village due to unplanned cutting of Slopes in the process of widening of NH-44 Four Lane Project. The affected families are temporary accommodated without any roof. Provide immediate tents on war footing. It is a great injustice to the affected families who are below poverty line and have no scope for their daily livelihood.
Ashok has further said that the affected families have no financial assistant and have also become landless. Moreover, they have no source of income, the only source they used to have was their small junks of land where they used to cultivate to sustain their daily livelihood. Ashok has strongly urged upon the concerned authorities to provide immediate rehabilitation to the affected families before it's too late.
Ashok has demanded to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir that immediate proper compensation, proper rehabilitation, food items, cooking gas should be provided to them. In addition, temporary land for tents should also be provided on humanitarian grounds.
