JMC Mayor reviews ongoing development works

Jammu, Sept 1: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Surinder Singh Choudhary Councillor of ward no. 29 today on 01/09/2021 conducted an extensive tour in the various localities of Shakti Nagar, Shiv Nagar its adjoining localities and took stock of the ongoing construction work of walkway & Green spaces along side of Ranbir canal from Pawan Icecream Chowk Shakti Nagar towards AG Office area.
The works are completed with an estimate cost of RS.1.30 Cr. Sh. Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer, concerned Junior Engineer, sh. Naresh kumar work supervisor and other supervisory staff of Engg. Division II and Health section as well as prominent inhabitants of the Shakti Nagar area were also accompanied the mayor during the tour.
Speaking on the occasion Mayor told that due to ongoing construction work of flyover &widening of roads on Jammu to Akhnoor by the NHAI, the residents of the locality as well as morning walkers especially women, old persons & children were facing great hardships and they have been deprived of a suitable site for morning &evening walk on daily basis & the concerned Councillor has taken a lot of initiatives towards developing a well furnished walkway for them which also consists of open air Gym, plantation all over the sides, installation of a Kanopy with chairs for sitting purpose, as well as LED Lights at the suitable sites for providing proper illumination in the area as well as other allied facilities for the people. He directed the concerned Engg. Section to complete the work within the stipulated time frame by applying best quality equipments so that citizens can take full benefit of this walkway. Besides this, Mayor also visited lane no. 10/D of Lower Shiv nagar area where construction/renovation works of drain and Lane and also took stock of this ongoing work and instructed the concerned to complete it also on urgent basis.
