KP delegation call on Relief commissioner

Jammu, Sept 1: A delegation of Vision Kashmir comprising of over aged Relief-Holders called Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) today and submitted a memorandum regarding various issues the overaged Relief-Holders are confronting in these catastrophic situations arising out of Covid-19 pandemic and consequent lockdowns.
Delegation was led by its convenor Sunil Fotedar and informed the worthy commissioner that even living an exiled life for over three decades, and most of the overaged Relief-Holders have crossed their age limit; they still continue to struggle to deal with their basic amenities for their sustenance and survival due to economic instabilities. He said that overaged Relief-Holders have become stumbling blocks by facing a lot of embracement and humiliation by the authorities at the helm of affairs by giving heating touch rather than healing touch.
He further said that overaged Relief-Holders of the displaced community have been left in disparaging situation, how can an individual make both ends meet with such a meagre amount of Rs 3250 per person in the situation when the prices of commodities are touching the skies; and demanded an enhancement in cash assistance of at least Rs 5000 per person in order to meet the expenses of medicines with other necessities like LPG, milk, vegetables etc.
The worthy commissioner assured the delegation that steps are being taken by the government to look into the issues that the displaced community is confronting currently. Other members of the delegation include Ramesh Pandita, Sanjay Raina, Vinod Koul, Anil Mattoo, Raja Ji Kakroo, Bharat Pandita, Ashok Bhat, Ashok Koul and others.
