GDC Darhal organizes plantation drive

Darhal, Sept 1: NSS Unit of Govt. Degree College Darhal organized a Plantation Drive for in the college and surrounding areas to celebrate POSHAN Maah under the theme Poshan Vatika for First week of September 2021.
Principal of the college Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia told that this year’s Poshan Maah will be celebrated as Thematic Poshan Maah in which different themes will be addressed on weekly basis throughout the month of September 2021 as desired by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India which is the is the nodal ministry for organizing POSHAN Maah under the POSHAN Abhiyaan. Dr. Ather Aziz Raina NSS Programme Officer of the college told that NSS has been assigned the task to celebrate this year’s Poshan Maah and NSS Unit of the college has started the programme with First Week’s Theme Poshan Vatika. He told that the volunteers have planted so many sapplings on the first day in the college, in HSS and in the surrounding areas and this planatation drive will continue throughout the week. NSS Group leaders Sajjad Ahmed Malik and Sobia Naseem told that the volunteers were very eager and enthusiastic during this programme and they will continue this thematic weekly Poshan Abhiyaan throughout this month of September. Non-teaching staff members Altaf, Qayoom, Safeer, Avez, and Saddam also attended plantation drive.
