| SDP announces candidates for 10 seats | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 30: Socialistic Democratic Party today declared its first list of candidates for the ensuing Assembly elections in the state. The party finalized its list during a joint meeting of SDP Executive and Parliamentary Committees held at party Headquarter at Srinagar. The party finalized four candidates for Kashmir division and six seats for Jammu division in the first list. According to a party handout the party will field Abdul Ahad Wani for Beerwah Mohammad Lateef Mirchal for Sopore, Haji Abdul Hameed Rather for Batamaloo and Mohammad Lateef Thakur for Chadoora in Kashmir valley. Similarly Sardar Gursagar Singh will be party’s candidate for Poonch Haveli, Sunil Sharma for Nowshehra Surendra Choudhry for Suchetgarh Mohammad Yousuf Rather for Doda , Abhinav Wazir for Bhaderwah , Peer Abdul Majeed Shah for Banihal in Jammu region. The party has finalized this list while leaving many seats for the poll-alliance partner-Jammu and Kashmir National United Front (JKNUF). The next list will be declared within a few days. Speaking on the occasion Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that ‘we will be releasing our Election Manifesto soon as it is being finalized with our alliance partners. She said that she is convinced that people want new representatives and new parties with concrete and practical political ideologies and she is also convinced that there is much acceptance among youth to SDP than any other political party’. |
