Khoda visits South Kashmir
Reviews security arrangements for elections

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: The Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda asserted that all possible security arrangements would be ensured for the smooth conduct of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir State.
Reviewing the security arrangements with the senior police officers of south Kashmir districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama during his visit today, Mr. Khoda said the candidates contesting the forthcoming Assembly polls will be provided adequate security. He said all required measures will be taken to ensure the security of the public and venue of public meetings to be address by various political parties and candidates as also around the polling stations so that the entire election process is conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
The Director General of Police said that the entire security grid across the state would be strengthened by ensuring more close coordination between various security agencies.
Khoda asked police officers to fully acclimatize the security forces being brought for deployment for election duty from various parts of the country. During the meetings, the DGP was apprised by the concerned District Police officers about the overall security scenario in their jurisdictions and the steps being taken to further gear up the security arrangements.
During the tour, Director General Police enroute inspected various alternate accommodations for security personnel being deployed for election duty at Anantnag, Kulgam, Devsar Mir-bazar Devsar, Midoora Tral, Pulwama, Shopian and Pampore and was briefed by the Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation, Ravinder Kotwal and the Executive Engineer, Police Construction Division, Farooq Ahmed about the progress of alternate accommodation and other construction works going on in South Kashmir.
On the occasion various public delegations also interacted with DGP and apprised him about their problems.
During the tour, Khoda was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Dr. B. Srinivas, Managing Director. Police Housing Corporation, Ravinder Kotwal, DIG Anantnag Range, Niyaz Mahmood, DIG Administration (PHQ) S. S. Salaria, SSP Anantnag Nitesh Kumar, SSP, Pulwama, Ali Mohammad, S.P. Kulgam Imtiyaz Hussain, S.P. Awantipora, Bashir Ahmed and other police officers.
