| Tourist oriented book in Kashmiri hits market | | Bukhari introduces new script `˜Kashroman' | | Rajouri, July 10 : Notwithstanding the fact that several attempts have been made to make Kashmiri language easy to learn and understand yet there was need of easily comprehensible and comprehensive guide in this regard. Wait is over as the need has been fulfilled by renowned writer; Farooq Bukhari by authoring a book entitled `Kashmiri Language Teacher'. The book, which is compass reading for foreign tourist with a new script of `Kashroman', has hit the market of the state.
Consisting of 128 pages, this book comprised of 22 Chapters and each chapter is depending upon common spoken words with translation of each word in English, Roman Kashmiri, Urdu and Kashmiri in Urdu script which make it easy even for a laymen.
Keeping in view the foreign tourist thronging Kashmir and problems being faced by them in understanding this language, the book has stressed mainly on the common words so as to make it easy understandable for tourists.
In this regard, the book has covered consonants and vowels, numbers, change of number/gender, names of relations pronouns, forms of verbs, auxiliary verb, tenses, interrogatives, food items, fruits, vegetables, animals, names of different professionals, dress items, times and places, colours and parts of body.
Published by Bukhari Publishers, the book has also given a new concept of script `Kashroman'- an effort to devise such a script with English alphabet as its base that enable to read and learn Kashmiri in Roman Script. `Kashroman' script was the only need fro introduction of Kashmiri in foreign.
Author of the book, Farooq Bukhari, who has left Kashmir 26 years ago and settled in border district of Rajouri, is delighted with the response of the book from native and foreign readers. He is of the opinion that he has authored this book keeping in mind its tourist orientation and introduction of Kashmiri in non-Kashmiries.
Taking to newspersons here today, Farooq Bukhari, who is fewer administrators and more writers, said that he has also translated Physics and Biology in Kashmiri language and has also authored a book on medicinal plants of Kashmir in Kashmiri language. "I am presently working to translate verses of Alamdar-e-Kashmir Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (Nud Reshi) in Pahari Language", he said adding that though he has left Kashmir 26 years ago, yet he has affection with his language and desire to introduce it in every nation of the world. I am trying to introduce my mother tongue in abroad; he said adding that his desire will be fulfilled very soon.
