FDP on Integration of ICT in Teaching, Learning begins

JAMMU, Sept 13: A 5-day long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Integration of ICT in Teaching and Learning organized by Educational & Communication Technology & Computer Science (ECT&CS) Wing of SCERT- J&K commenced today.
The programme is being held on the directions of Principal Secretary to Govt, School Education Department, BK Singh, under the guidance of Director SCERT J&K, Prof Veena Pandita and the supervision of Surinder Kumar, Joint Director SCERT J&K, Jammu.
The main objective of the programme is to enable the participants to integrate ICT with pedagogy, Use assessment tools for assessment students in online mode, Design and develop re-usable e-content for teaching using various online tools, Recognize potentially unsafe, dangerous or risky online situations and behaviors and adopt various online Open sources during the conduct of training programme.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof Veena Pandita, Director, SCERT J&K who laid emphasis on the importance of such trainings as Integration of ICT in Teaching Learning and Training nowadays has been a significant mode of education to support, enhance and optimise the delivery of information and Teachers and schools need to keep up with the recent developments in the field of teacher training and education in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning process.
The welcome address was presented by Joint Director, SCERT J&K, Jammu Division, Surinder Kumar, who apprised about the significance of the program for the DIET faculty. The brief introduction of the programme was given by Pawan Gupta, Associate Prof (CEO & Equiv), Head- Educational & Communication Technology & Computer Science (ECT&CS), SCERT J&K- Divisional Office Jammu.
The programme was co-ordinated by Rakhi Atri, Academic Officer, SCERT J&K Jammu and Akash Khajuria & Yugal Kishore, Teacher, SCERT J&K acted as Associate Coordinators .
National Resource Persons who held two sessions of the first day are Prof Indu Kumar Professor- National Coordinator NISHTHA, CIET, NCERT, New Delhi and Dr Angel Rathnabai-Assistant Professor, CIET New Delhi.
The program is being attended by 60 key Resource Persons including those from DIETs and District Coordinators (SRG-ICT).
Other Coordination team of the ECT& CS Wing of SCERT J&K who remained present during the programme included Dr Sabeta Kohli, Dr Meenakshi Chandan, Academic Officers and Ravinder Verma, Master, SCERT J&K Jammu
