GDC Ramnagar organizes online lecture to celebrate Poshan Maah

UDHAMPUR, Sept 13: NSS unit and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav committee of GDC Ramnagar organized an online lecture through Google Meet on the topic ‘Basic concept of nutrients and energy requirements for healthy living’ to commemorate ‘Poshan Maah’ 2021 under the patronship of Dr Udhey Bhanu, principal GDC Ramnagar.
The resource person of the event was Mukesh Kumar, Physical Director GDC Ramnagar. Mukesh Kumar who also works as Nutrition Councellor and Exercise Physiologist demonstrated how obesity has affected the young youth of not only of India but also of the world. He also suggested the students to follow healthy routine style and elaborated the need of various nutrients in the balanced diet. He demonstrated the method to calculate the BMI of the body and suggested the students to keep a keen eye on their BMI. In his lecture, Mukesh also demonstrated the various types of cancers occurring by body’s overweight.
The event was coordinated by Prof Ritika Mahajan, convener Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and NSS Programme Officer and was organized by Prof Divya Puri, Prof Neetu Sharma and Dr Rashmi.
Principal GDC Ramnagar Dr Bhanu applauded the team and also opined that food, when eaten in proper interval and in right amount can make a person healthy and also advised the students to refrain themselves from junk and processed food.
