GDC Jindrah initiates Yoga workshop under Poshan Maah

JAMMU, Sept 13: A two-day long workshop on Yoga was initiated by the NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah in collaboration with the Directorate of AYUSH under Poshan Maah as part of Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
The NSS volunteers, students and staff gathered in the college premises of GDC Jindrah and followed the yoga guidelines and did various yogic exercises like Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Trilokasana, Bhujangasana etc. under the supervision and guidance of the medical team from AYUSH department. The medical team also make participants aware of various Asanas under standing and sitting postures along with common Yoga protocol to be followed while performing different Asanas in the first session. The second session includes lectures by the medical team wherein different types of Yoga Asanas under standing, sitting, prone, supine and inverted series divided according to different body postures were discussed in details. The AYUSH medical team presented on the occasion comprises of Dr Komal Wazir, Medical Officer and Dr Suresh Sharma, District Medical Officer. Dr Sunil Sharma, Programme Officer, NSS unit of GDC Jindrah along with the whole NSS Committee of GDC Jindrah initiated the event under the guidance of Prof Rajshree Dhar, the Principal of GDC Jindrah. The whole event was compiled by Dr Seema, Librarian and member of NSS committee.
Dr Sunil Sharma acknowledged the efforts of AYUSH Department and especially admired and extended his gratitude to Dr Mohan Singh, Director, AYUSH department, for his unconditional support in a short notice. Prof Poonam Rainu, Convener, NSS Unit also extended her gratitude to the medical team and acknowledged the support provided by all the members presented on the occasion.
