| Glowing tributes paid to Indira Gandhi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 31: Rich tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 24th death anniversary today by the Congress party which organized several functions in the Jammu province while the main function was held at the party head quarter Shahidi Chowk, Jammu. As per a press release the function was organized by DCC (Urban) Jammu under the leadership of Om Chopra, Ex-MLA, senior party leaders Mangat Ram Sharma Ex-Dy Chief Minister, Yash Pal Khajuria, S. Parduman Singh-MLC, Janak Raj Gupta, Ex-MP, Farida Mir-MLC, Yogesh Sawhney Ex-MLA, Vinod Sharma, B.R. Kundal, Balwinder Singh Sambyal, many others. The speakers described Gandhi as an iron lady under whose stewardship the nation progressed in every sphere and the country became the torch bearer of peace in the world. She strengthened the Non-Align Movement (NAM) became a strong voice of developing countries for which Gandhi’s leadership was recognized through out world. In another function a meeting of Youth Congress workers was held at Bhagwatinagar, Jammu today under the chairmanship of Narinder Gupta, general secretary PYC, in which rich tributes were paid to late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Gupta described Indira jee as an iron lady. Country has progressed in all spheres under her leadership and recalled Gandhi as an architect of first peaceful nuclear explosion at Pokhran in 1974. |
