| IDPD for regional cooperation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 31: In a meeting with the doctors and medical students held at ASCOMS, Dr Arun Mitra National general secretary Indian Doctors for Peace and Development stressed the need to promote more trust and confidence building measures between people of this state as per a release it was felt that with regional and communal divide, the health, education and development of the society suffer because the resources of state are diverted for security reasons. The efforts of J&K chapter to hold meetings with doctors from Kashmir were appreciated as there is need to channelise energy and fight together against the common enemies like malnutrition, disease, poverty and ignorance in the region. Amarjit Kour general secretary AITUC cautioned the medicos about the communal and divisive forces who are out to disrupt ‘One India’ concept on one pretext or the other. Sehrish Asgar, Sonali Sharma discussed the ill effects of such divide on the minds of young people and cautioned their colleagues to remain aware of the rumor mongerers. Dr. S.S. Soodan National vice president IDPD, Dr. G.M Malik president IDPD Kashmir, Dr. R.P. Kudyar, and Dr. Pawan Malhotra also spoke on the occasion. |
