MIET students excel at national level.

JAMMU, Oct 31: The students of the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) have excelled in varied events and festivals at the National / State level and have brought laurels to the Institute and the University of Jammu.
Priyanka Salathia, student of 5th Semester Computer Science and Engineering, Captain of Hand Ball Team of the University of Jammu led the team for the Inter University Hand Ball Tournament held at Kolkata during Oct 17-28 and reached the Quarter Finals of the event which is extremely creditable.
In addition, students of MIET have been participating at various educational and technical festivals in other reputed universities of the country. Forty seven students took part in the Tech Fest “Thomso” held at I.I.T Roorkee during Oct 23-26. Abhimanyu Sharma, Arpan and Sumit Radotra of 7th Semester, Computer Science Department got the third prize in News making event. Similarly at the Tech Fest “Oasis” held at BITS Pilani during 20-24 October, six students took part and were the runner up in Quiz Competition.
Congratulating all the winners and participants in various events, Dr Arun K. Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions, appreciated the efforts put in by the students in highlighting the name of the MIET, the University and J&K State at the National Level. Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER Group assured that all the opportunities will be provided to the students so that they can excel at the national and global levels. Principal, MIET Prof. S.K Sharma also congratulated the students on their achievements.
