| Onions, garlic from Muzaffarabad on display in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 31: Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday organized exhibition of trade items gifted by traders of Pakistan occupied Kashmir at Chamber house to boost sales of POK goods. These trade items were gifted to the Jammu chambers by their counterparts on the occasion of start of symbolic trade on October 21 in Poonch. To begin with basmati rice, onions, potatoes and garlic was exhibited by the Jammu chambers in order to introduce these goods to local customers. On the occasion orders were booked by the chambers to forward it to their counterparts in POK for supplying these goods during next round of exchange of goods. Large number of customers, who reached Chamber house, shared their unique experience and hoped that better trade ties between both the sides would help bridge the gap which existed between them for last 60 years. Ram Sahai, President of Jammu CCI said that traders from Pok had sent across these trade items along with a bill of Rs 35,500 on October 21. He said to give impetus to trade between the two sides the traders decided to exhibit these goods to book more orders. He said formal trade between the two sides would begin only after their visit to POK and also urged the governments to add more items in the trade list for cementing trade ties. |
