PIL seeking educational benefits for KPs living in Kashmir

JAMMU, Sept 15: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti seeking educational benefits for the Kashmiri Pandits living in Kashmir, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul dispose of the PIL with the direction to Chief Secretary to consider the grievance of the petitioner as raised in the two representations in accordance with law most expeditiously. It will be open to the petitioner to submit a comprehensive representation highlighting all their grievances, if they so desire, within a period of two weeks from today and it will be open for the Chief Secretary to consider the same as directed above.
In the PIL petitioners seeking the government concessions for better education and other related benefits under "Central /State Minority, Quota" or "SC/ST Quota, the Samiti said: "As such it was requested that the Special Quota provided tothe Kashmiri Pandit Migrants in Professional Colleges across the country be extended to the Non Migrant Kashmiri Pandit / Kashmiri Hindu families who are living in Kashmir Valley. —JNF
