DC Jammu reviews progress of work on Jammu-Akhnoor four-lanning project

JAMMU, Sept 15: Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review the progress of work on Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway four-lanning project. Reviewing the status of widening work, the DC asked the concerned departments to coordinate in resolving the bottlenecks, if any, to facilitate smooth execution of the work plan. Assistant Commissioner Revenue Vijay Kumar, representatives of NHAI, (NHIDCL) and senior officers of other concerned departments were present in the meeting. The meeting was informed about the progress of work so far and the status of removal of pending structures, land acquisition and other related issues. The DC reviewed the progress achieved on different sections of the road, demolition of pending structures and disbursement of compensation for the acquired land. The Deputy Commissioner asked the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work to meet the timelines. He directed them to complete the work well in time and make the road traffic worthy. Emphasizing on strict adherence to quality specification and timely completion, the DC underlined the need for maintaining synergy among the departments with regard to shifting of public utilities. He called for maintaining inter-departmental coordination in the process of utility shifting which is vital for smooth execution of work.
