Public grievances redressal camp held at Lakhanpur

KATHUA, Sept 15: Taking District Administration to the doorsteps of the general public to listen and redress their grievances, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav today convened a Public Outreach Camp here at Lakhanpur.
District Development Council Vice Chairman Raghunandan Singh; DDC Member Keerian-Gandyal Dr. Shaweta; Senior Superintendent of Police, Chairman MC Lakhanpur, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical officer, Chief Education Officer, Tehsildar Kathua ,Executive Officer MC Kathua, District Panchayat Kathua, XEn irrigation Division Kathua, XEn PDD, XEn PHE, XEn PWD, XEn PMGSY, XEn RTIC, DEPO, CEO Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority attended the meeting.
The PRIs projected the issues of public importance and sough immediate redress of the same. Sarpanch Panchayat Mah demanded fixation of rates of the construction material and pacing up of development at the Panchayat level. He further raised the issue of overloading in the mini buses, road problem from Lakhanpur to Hatli and better internet connectivity to facilitate students in taking online classes.
President Youth federation Lakhanpur demanded a playground for Lakhanpur area and crates for avoiding the soil erosion. Sarpanch Panchayat Rasoo sought augmentation of drinking water Supply in his Halqa. He demanded compensation for damage caused to the maize crop due to incessant rains.
President MC Lakhanpur Ravinder Sharma demanded delimitation of Lakhanpur MC and Commissioning of 22 transformers which have already been installed to resolve the low voltage problem in the township. He further demanded upgradation of PHC and Government High School Lakhanpur and exemption of toll at toll Plaza Lakhanpur for local people. The Executive Officer MC Lakahnpur appealed to the people to say no to the plastic.
The DDC Member Keerian-Gandyal raised the demand for restoration of Hatli Morh-Dhol khadd- Hatli -Ghunni Road which connects 10 Panchyats.
SSP Kathua appealed the people to cooperate with the Police to check and control the menace of drugs and narcotic smuggling.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Vice Chairperson Raghunandan Singh said the purpose of holding the outreach camp is to get feedback from the Public so that problems of the people are solved on the spot.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to mitigate the problems and demands of the people raised during the camp.
Regarding the issue of already tendered works, he directed the concerned officers to cancel the tender of contractors who failed to start the work within the specified time period. The directions were passed to the concerned authorities to check and take action in case of overloading in the mini buses. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration in making Lakanpur a polythene free area.
He said that the matter of up gradation of PHC Lakahapur and Govt. High School Lakhanpur will be taken up with the concerned authorities.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Yadav appealed to the people to follow the Covid appropriate behavior and take vaccination to avert the third wave of Covid-19.
