Loan defaulter gets jail for month

JAMMU, Oct 31: Committing Kamal Kishore to the civil prison for a period of one month following his inability to pay the decretal amount ,Additional District Judge Bank Cases Jammu Shakti Gupta today directed bank to deposit the substance allowance Rs 1500 in this Court . The Court also directed Superintendent District Jail Jammu to keep the judgment debtor in prison till the whole amount is liquidated by him or at the first instance for a period of one month.
The judgment debtor had obtained loan from J&K Bank but failed to pay back the same upon which the bank filed a suit of recovery in which the bank got the decree against the respondent.
The accused defaulter, who appeared in the court showed his inability to pay the decretal amount, upon this the counsel for the bank moved an application for detention of Kamal Kishore in the civil prison. In view of the submissions made in the application by the bank, the Court committed the judgment debtor Kamal Kishore to the civil prison for a period of one month.
