Rs 438 Cr projects under ERA execution

SRINAGAR Oct 31: Governor, N N Vohra, has stressed on for an effective management policy for timely completion of the projects executed by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).
He was reviewing the progress of the ERA projects in a high level meeting here today.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to Governor, Mr. C. Phunsog, Chief Secretary, Mr. S.S. Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, ERA, Mr. Pankaj Jain, Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. B.B. Vyas, Principal Secretary Forests, Mr. Iqbal Khanday, Principal Secretary PHE, Mr. Angurana, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Masuad Samoon and other senior officers of the State administration.
The Governor asked the officers to monitor and supervise the work on regular basis. He called for disposing off forest clearance cases quickly and ensuring release of funds in time so that the execution of the project is not affected. He asked the concerned authorities for taking immediate measures for quicker utility shifting and removing other impediments coming in the way of execution of ERA projects.
Vohra asked Srinagar Municipal Corporation authorities for early identification of land for construction of public lavatories in Srinagar city.
The meeting was informed that during the current year, over Rs. 438 crore projects are under execution in the State by ERA under Asian Development Bank and Counterpart Funding, while as Rs. 233 crores have so far been spent on 75 projects during the current fiscal with a Counterpart Funding amount of Rs. 140 crore.
The meeting was also informed that ERA is providing equipments to various agencies involved in the execution of ERA projects in the State. It was also said that for utility shifting the Power Development, Public Health Engineering, Social Forestry departments, BSNL, ITI and Army have been provided Rs. 31 crores for the purpose.
