| DDC Chairperson Udhampur gives away motorised tricycles to specially abled persons | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: A one day awareness cum distribution camp was today organized by Social Welfare Department Udhampur here at Battal Ballian.
DDC Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand was the Chief Guest, while DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas Pathania was the guest of honour.
As many as 10 motorized tricycles were distributed among the specially-abled persons of District Udhampur.
In his address, the DDC Chairperson applauded the efforts made by the Social Welfare Department and ALIMCO for organizing this awareness cum distribution camp. He said that the aim of such camps is to make the people aware about the schemes of the department so that they can take benefit of the same. He asked the Social Welfare Department to implement the scheme on mission mode in coordination with PRIs and cover all the eligible beneficiaries.
Earlier, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Tilak Raj Atri presented a welcome address and enlightened the participants about various schemes sponsored by the Social Welfare Department specially meant for the welfare of specially-abled persons. The programme was attended by BDC Chairman, Udhampur Balwan Singh; DDC Councillors, Puram Chand, Sarpanch Fangial, Sushma Sharma and other PRIs. |
