| Over 56 lakh pilgrims visit Vaishno Devi in 10 months | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 1: Over 56 lakh pilgrims from various parts of the country have visited the holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) up to ending October 2008, since January first this year.
Alone in the month of October, as many as 6, 31, 790 devotees paid their obeisance in the holy cave shrine.
Presently 28000 to 29000 pilgrims are daily reaching at the base camp Katra town for their onward journey to the holy cave shrine.
Adequate arrangements have been made by the shrine board for the visiting pilgrims. Elaborate security arrangements have also been made by the police department enroute darbar and at the base camp Katra. |
