| NC’s ‘vision document’ misleading: Gupta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 1: The former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has termed the National Conference “Vision Document-2020” as yet another bid to put the old wine in a new bottle to hoodwink the electorates who knew the hollowness of the earlier promises. The Self-Rule election document of the PDP is also almost similar one, he added and observed that both these parties are having communal mindset with the same objective of distancing Jammu and Kashmir State from rest of the country to create political space for secessionism and appease the fundamentalists in the valley. Commenting upon the National Conference “Vision Document”, Prof. Gupta said that an attempt is being made to cover up their failures of the earlier election promises by framing new booklets but the people would like to know that what was the fate of 1983, 1987 and 1996, Election Manifestoes and why they failed to provide at least one Government job to each family and the subsistence allowance to the unemployed youths. About their claim of being secular and believers of being pluralist society, the BJP leader questioned that why they have been demanding Autonomy and separate status for this State especially when the founders of the NC including late Sheikh Mohammed. Abdullah and others were members of the Constituent Assembly of India which adopted constitution for the whole country but at the fag end they advocated for separate status but for communal thinking. |
