| Musical night at Purkoo camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 1: For the entertainment of Kashmiri migrants, the Cultural Academy organized a folk music and dance recital at Government higher secondary school at migrant camp Purkhoo last evening. The renowned artists of the state made the audience mesmerized by their excellent performances while the Kashmiri folk song and dance were highly appreciated by the audience. Sabita Baskhi Additional secretary of the Academy and noted Sitar Mastero were also present on the occasion. Bakshi in her inaugural address gave a thought provoking and educational tips to the students and emphasized on ‘Aesthtic of music’. She said music can play a great role particularly among the youth who feel great stress and pressure during their clamp days and added that ‘it is the music only which provide us depth, sooth-ness and relaxation of mind and of course, proper remedy of anxiety. The principal of the school Usha Zutshi who was the chief guest thanked the Academy for organizing a special cultural program in the migrant camp which was highly appreciated by the audience. |
