| Pahari convention held at Manjakote | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 1: Pahari Peoples Movement Rajouri has appealed political parties to give priority to their demand in their election manifestos. At a one day convention held at Manjakote, Pahari Peoples Movement Chief Executive Shahbaz Khan said that political parties should enlist their demand of schedule tribe status on the top of the election manifesto. He said that Pahari people were deprived of their basic rights in the state. He said the Paharis are not fielding any separate candidate of the community in the elections. Shahbaz reminded the commitment of then President of India APJ Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi during their visits to Uri to meet the earthquake victims and said that these top brass leaders had assured the people that their demand of Pahari status will be considered but nothing changed till date. |
