GDC Bhaderwah organizes webinar on Climate Crisis

BHADERWAH, Sept 22: Department of Botany, Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah organized one day International Webinar on the topic "The Climate Crisis: Our planet is in an emergency". The event was organized under the supervision of Principal of the college Dr Kuldeep K Sharma and HOD Botany Prof Davinder Kumar. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof BP Singh Chauhan, the Conevener of Webinar Organizing Committee which comprised of Dr Sandeep Kotwal, Prof Sandesh Kumar and Prof Anuradha Sharma (HOD EVS) as its members. On this occasion Dr Anwesha Borthakur, Marie Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellow, Katholieke Universiteit (KU) Leuven, Belgium, who is an eminent researcher of international repute, was invited as resource person as well as Chief Guest. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Central University of Kerala and Dr Pardeep Singh, Assistant Professor, PGDAV College, University of Delhi graced the occasion with their virtual presence as guests of honour. The webinar was attended by a large number of students, research scholars and faculty from different colleges and universities across the length and breadth of the country.
Principal of the college Dr Kuldeep Kumar Sharma presented a formal welcome address in which he extended warm welcome to the resource person/chief guest, guests of honour, faculty, students and all other participants of the webinar. After welcome address the resource person delivered her talk and presented a power point presentation on the topic of webinar.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr Sandeep Kotwal, Asstt. Professor GDC Bhaderwah. Prominent among others who participated in the webinar include Prof Mansa Ram (HOD Zoology), Prof Sanjay Katal, Prof Surinder Parihar, Prof Prithvi Raj, Prof Pinki Kotwal, Prof Javed Ahmed, Prof Sanjay Kumar, Prof Ankush Kumar, Prof Irshad Wani and Prof Manzoor Ahmed.
