| ANTF Jammu recovers huge consignment of poppy straw | | |

JAMMU, Sep 24: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, specialized wing to check rising menace of drugs, achieved another success after it foiled a bid to smuggle poppy straw worth lakhs of rupees. ANTF Jammu received information that one truck bearing registration number JK02AG-8035 driven by Mushtaq Ahmed Rather S/o Abdul Kareem Rather R/o Dooru Anantnag which is coming from Kashmir valley and going to Punjab has concealed large quantity of Poppy Straw under the fresh fruit apple boxes loaded in the above mentioned truck.
On this information a case FIR 12/2021 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station. The ANTF Jammu and ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid naka near Parmandal Morh Jammu. The truck loaded with fresh fruit boxes was stopped by the ANTF team and during search of the truck, with the help of Dog squad of crime branch Jammu, ANTF team recovered 208 kilograms and 200 grams of Poppy Straw concealed in 13 plastic bags under the fresh fruit boxes. Mushtaq was arrested and truck has been seized. |
