                    | PMGSY Deptt Ramban intensifies blacktopping work to provide smooth connectivity to far-flung areas |  | 48.20 KM length covered in twin divisions of Ramban, Banihal |   |   Early Times Report
  RAMBAN, Sept 24: Department of PMGSY has intensified the blacktopping work on various road projects here in twin divisions of Ramban and Banihal to provide better road connectivity to far-flung villages. Around 48.20 KM road length has been blacktopped so far  in the twin divisions and efforts are being made by the department to achieve the 100% target of covering 130.82 km road length in the current  fiscal (2021-22).    Executive Engineer, KK Sharma informed that  involving an expenditure of Rs. 11. 49 Crore, a total 35.20 KMroad against the target of 93.82 KM has been blacktopped in Ramban Division during the Current financial year, including  Sangaldan- Tatapani-5km, Maroge Balihote- Ahdwa 4.7 KM, Rajgarh to Shamthi- 4km, Chhampa – Dhaino 11 KM, Kunga-Kothi 7 KM and Dalwass-Savni Karman 3.5 KM. While briefing about progress on different road projects, the Executive Engineer, PMGSY,  Banihal, Gian Singh said that blacktopping  work is underway on various ongoing projects.  He said that a total of 13 KM road involving Rs 2.79 Crore has been blacktopped in the Sub- division   Ramsoo and Banihal so far against the target of 37 km, which includes Banihal–Mangit road 7km, Banihal -Neel Prehinder road 3km and Banihal- Chanchloo road 3km.  Keeping in view the importance of road projects, the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam directed both the Executive to complete blacktopping work on all roads on a war footing.  He further stated that rural road connectivity is not only a mode of transportation for rural residents, but it is also a key factor in overall rural development because it allows access to economic and social services, which help in increasing agricultural incomes and productive employment opportunities in far-flung areas. |
