| Ex-servicemen rally at Palma | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 2: In its quest for restoring peace and stability in the region and looking after the welfare of all segments of the society, an Ex-Servicemen rally was organized by a Rashtriya Rifles, unit under the aegis of Romeo Force, at the Palma Children Academy Campus, Village Palma, today for the benefit of Ex-Servicemen of District Rajouri.
About 700 Ex-Servicemen joined the rally.
In his opening remarks Honorary Captain Azam, senior ex-servicemen of Rajouri thanked the organizers for holding the rally.
Representatives from Zila Sainik Board and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Rajouri also briefed the rally about the various welfare activities which the Government had introduced for their benefit.
In his address to the ex-servicemen, the Officiating Commander highlighted the contribution of the ex-servicemen towards the nation while in service as also the need to strengthen the hands of the Armed Forces in fighting insurgency post retirement. He stressed upon the role of the ex-servicemen in restoration of peace in the state and in motivating the misguided youth to shun the path of terrorism and join the mainstream. |
