| Jamwal to contest from Vijaypur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 2: Peoples Revolutionary Movement today sounded the election bugle with the announcement of Rajinder Jamwal as its candidate from Vijaypur assembly constituency.
PRM in a meeting of over 800 delegates at Rahya Morh adopted a resolution asking Rajinder Jamwal to contest assembly election from Vijaypur constituency. The resolution was moved by Virender Singh and passed by a voice vote.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Jamwal accepted the demand of the people to contest the elections. He said that people of Jammu have been exploited by the mainstream political, national as well as Kashmir based parties for last more than 60 years and the process is continuing unabated.
He said that during past 20 years of active social life, he has felt that gross discrimination against Jammu is due to political leaders who have always ditched the people of Jammu for the sake of power.
He thanked the people for reposing their faith in him and assured that he will not let them down and would raise the voice of neglected and oppressed people of Jammu.
Rajinder Jamwal effectively represented the case of Jammu discrimination at the all party delegation led by Union Home Minister Shiv Raj Patil recently, they added. |
