NABARD conducts workshop on ACABC scheme in Reasi

REASI, Sept 28: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in association with Krishi Vigyan Kendre Reasi organized a workshop on the promotion of Agri Clinics and Agri Business Centers (ACABC) Scheme, of the Department of Agricultutre Cooperation and Farmers' Welfare, GoI. The aim of the scheme is to support agriculture development and create gainful employment for agriculture graduates besides extending extension services to the farmers.
The workshop was attended by Adarsh Gupta, District Development Manager, NABARD, Dr Banarsi Lal (Incharge KVK, Reasi), the representatives of Agriculture Department, UMEED, PRIs, Agriculture graduates of the district besides farmers. Giving details of the scheme, the DDM informed that the scheme aims to provide business opportunities to unemployed agriculture graduates and the doorstep delivery of agricultural extension services to farmers to cater to their local needs and affordability.
After the training, the applicants can apply for a bank loan up to Rs 20 lakh (individuals) and Rs 1 crore (in group mode) to start the unit. NABARD acts as the subsidy channel partner for the subsidy component which is 44 per cent for the applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) and north east, hilly states and 36 percent for all other cases.
Dr Banarsi Lal (Incharge, KVK, Reasi) appreciated the step and motivated the youth to come forward for setting up of new ventures taking benefit of the ACABC scheme.
