| GDC Paloura organizes door to door campaign under 'Poshan Maah' | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 28: Govt Degree College (GDC) Paloura organized "Door to Door Awareness Campaign" to commemorate National Nutrition Month-2021 under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
To spread awareness among masses regarding importance of nutritious diet, NSS volunteers conducted door to door campaign in Mishriwala village. The students also visited Jhuggis of brick kiln workers and told them about the power of nutritious food for pregnant women and children. To overcome the problem of malnutrition and for proper mental and physical development of children; students encouraged them to follow balanced diet by including proper proportion of minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins in their platter. Importance of growing organic kitchen garden and Yoga was also discussed.
Prof Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college lauded the enthusiastic participation of students in the campaign and impressed upon the students to avoid junk food and develop sound eating habits. The whole programme was coordinated by Dr Shivani Sharma, NSS Programme Officer of the college. |
