Series of activities on Gandhi Jayanti commenced at GDC Marh

JAMMU, Sept 28: In view of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahostav, GDC Marh in collaboration with Cultural Committee, Marh organized week long celebrations on Gandhi Jayanti, under the guidance of Principal Prof Aekta Gupta. Bonanza of colourful activities including online symposium, quiz competition, slogan writing, poster making, chanting of Gandhi's bhajans and screening of documentary on Gandhi's life will be part of the week long programme.
An online symposium on 'Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in present era' was organized yesterday in which 12 students from 1st semester participated and presented their views. In continuation a quiz competition on the theme 'Gandhiji's Life and Thoughts' was organized today in the college premises. A number of students of different semesters of the college participated in the event. The programme started with the lightning of the lamp and floral tributes were offered to Mahatma Gandhi.
Principal, Prof Aekta Gupta in her address, highlighted the main principles, teachings of Gandhi and importance of its implementation in the current scenario. The prize distribution ceremony was held wherein certificates and mementos to the winners and participants were awarded by the Principal. All the faculty members were present on the occasion. The programme was organized and coordinated by the Cultural Committee members.
