DC Poonch reviews Power Supply scenario, progress of education sector projects

POONCH, Sept 28: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today reviewed the power supply scenario in the district and progress of education sector projects here at two spate meetings.
The meeting regarding the power supply was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Madan lal; XEn, Project Rajouri, Maqbool Hussain; Executive Engineer, PDD, Irshad Hussain; XEn, STD, JPDCL, Hussain Mohd; Assistant Director Planning, M.A Khan; Assistant Executive Engineers, JEs and senior officials of the department.
Detailed deliberations on the status of Qazi Morha receiving station, Hari Mahrote receiving station, and status of power supply in different parts of the district were held in the meeting.
Setting deadlines for different projects, the Deputy Commissioner directed to complete work on the ongoing Receiving Station of Qazi Morha, Harimahrote Receiving Station etc. by October 15. He further asked for the timeline augmentation of the transformers. Directions were issued to Executive Engineers to monitor the progress on receiving stations and submit the report to DDC office and also maintain consumer Complaint Dairy on a daily basis.
The DC also directed the executive engineers to disconnect all illegal connections and regularize in the district.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a review meeting of the school Education Department here at the Conference Hall.
Zubair Hussain Shah, Joint Director School Education Poonch/Rajouri briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the ongoing works in the district. Abdul Majid, Chief Education Officer; Madan Lal Chief Planning Officer; AEE Samagra and All ZEOs of the district attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of progress of ongoing works like construction of additional Classrooms, strengthening of existing infrastructure in schools, KGBV, Girls Hostel, Drinking Water and Power facility in Schools, Teachers Quarters, etc. approved under Samagra, State Capex and District Capex during 2018-19 & 2019-20. Inder Jeet stressed on the need for timely completion of all works in a time bound manner and asked the CEO Poonch and all ZEOs to personally monitor the construction works and submit the status reports with GEO tagging photos.
He further asked the ZEOs to resolve the issues of land disputes, non-availability of land with the coordination of PRIs within three months. He further asked them to keep a close liaison with the executing agencies and seek status reports regularly, so that all the works are completed within a stipulated time.
The DC directed all the officials to seek details of local funds available with the schools so that they may be utilized for the development of facilities for the students. He also stressed on the regular conduct of Online/Community Classes to bridge the gap in the learning. He further directed all the Officials to follow COVID-19 SOPs while conducting classes for the students of class 10th and 12th with 50% attendance.
The CEO Poonch and ZEOs also raised certain problems faced by them which were sympathetically listened to by the DDC.
