KATHUA, Nov 3: District Election Officer, Kathua, Mandeep Kaur has intensified the preparedness for the forthcoming Assembly Elections in the district by kicking off the final round of 3-day EVM training session at Kathua today.
Kaur personally monitored the Electric Voting Machine (EVM) training program wherein more than 200 poll personnel were trained.
Speaking on the occasion, Kaur disclosed that 25 Master trainers 5 each in an Assembly Segment are imparting training to the nearly One hundred personnel daily and said that training process for the EVM will be completed within a few days at all Assembly Segments.
The District Kathua, consisting on assembly segments having varied topography is going to polls in the 5th phase of polling on December 13.
The segment of Bani, Basohli and Billawar are hilly with scattered population while the segments of Kathua and Hiranagar have cluster population.
A total of 3, 94876 electors are going to exercise their right of franchise out of which 2, 06378 are male and 1,88,498 are female. A total of 541 polling stations are to be set up out of which 100 are declared as hyper sensitive and 311 sensitive.
The hilly constituency of Bani has 37197 voters out of which 19356 are the male and 17841 are female. 56 polling stations 69 polling stations are declared as hyper sensitive while the remaining 13 are sensitive.
The Basohli Assembly Segment has a total of 68262 electorates out of which 35781 are male and 32481 are female. Out of total polling stations to be set up, 70 are sensitive, 12 hypersensitive and 50 as normal.
The Urban constituency of Kathua has 1, 01626 voters which include 53403 male and 48223 female and a total of 122 poling stations are to be set up out of which 72 are declared as sensitive.
Hiranagar Assembly segment has 51336 male voters and 48042 female voters totaling 99378 voters and 106 polling stations are to be set up out of which 64 are sensitive.
In Billawar Assembly Segment there are 88413 voters which include 46502 male and 41911 female voters and 132 polling stations are to be established out of which 40 have been declared as hypersensitive and 92 as sensitive.
