| Ward No 12 residents hold protest against Irrigation Deptt, MC Vijaypur | | | Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Oct 3: The inhabitants of Vijaypur WNo 12, Vijaypur and Shiv Nagar held protest against Irrigatio Department at Vijaypur under the leadership of Babal Gupta, Working President DCC Samba.
The protesters accused the Irrigation Department as well as Municipal Committee (MC) Vijaypur, regarding shifting the liabilities on one and other regarding the repairing of pully/bridge constructed over the Ravi Canal passing through WNo. 11, Vijaypur. Babal Gupta told that many incidents have occurred and caused injuries.
He told that the said bridge is being utilized by Ward No 10, Vijaypur, Shiv Nagar, Shri Partap Singh Pura as well as the employees/labourers working at AIIMS site. He further told that we have many time requested the authorities of Irrigation Department for repairing and widening the said bridges but the authorities of Irrigation Department said that it is not duty of Irrigation Department to construct the bridge.
He further told that we approached to the authorities of Municipal Committee, Vijaypur and requested for raising construction/repairing the said bridge. But the Municipal authorities also denied to construct/repair the bridge on the pretext that the area fall within the jurisdiction of Irrigation Department.
Babal Gupta urged the Deputy Commissioner Samba to intervene into the matter and make it convenient to repair/construct the said bridge for the betterment of public. |
