DGPC resumes charge on court directions
11/4/2008 10:57:57 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 4: Following decision by the State High Court in a writ petition filed by Amrik Singh and others, the District Gurdwara Prabandhak committee Jammu has resumed the charge of DGPC Jammu here today. The DGPC which was undemocratically dismissed by S.Tarlochan Singh Wazir, President SGPB was challenged in the court.
The High Court in its decision had directed the President GPB not to interfere in the working of DGPC which has already been reinstated. The court while allowing the petition held that removal of the petitioners from the office of the DGPC Jammu was illegal and accordingly quashed the impugned order.
While hailing the court decision, the DGPC has congratulated the Sikh sangat for re-assuming the charge of the committee.
