| JSM charges BJP with betrayal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 4: While strongly criticizing the BJP for not allowing the formation of a united front, consisting of all the political parties and groups, that were the part of the 62 struggle under the banner of SAYSS, the Jammu State Morcha (P) today announced its candidates for four assembly segments in Jammu region. Those contesting election include Rachpal Chand from Samba, Surjeet Singh Langhe from Marh, Surinder Singh Fauji from Udhampur and Ram Singh Nag from Reasi. JSM President in a statement issued here today said that ‘for their own political and personalized selfish interests, the BJP leaders have refused to agree with the suggestions of the Samiti to leave some assembly seats for those political parties, groups and individuals that were part of the struggle while declaring its candidates and thus have sabotaged the Jammu cause and broke the unity of the people of the region’. He also criticized BJP of attempting to exploit the public sentiments and its claims as being the only party that led the 62 day movement in Jammu. Appealing the electorate to vote for the Morcha candidates, Gupta promised, if elected, they would fight for the rights of the people of Jammu and struggle to achieve justice and basic amenities for them. |
