Samagra Shiksha J&K concludes training of resource persons on usage of NCERT educational kit

JAMMU, Oct 8: Directorate of Samagra Shiksha Jammu and Kashmir organised the Training of Resource Persons/ Teachers of all the Districts of Jammu and Kashmir on usage of NCERT Educational Kit.
The Programme, which was conducted in two phases, was attended by more than 1000 teachers, concluded at Girls Higher Secondary School Kothibagh Srinagar on October 8, 2021.
In phase first, the training was organised for Resource Persons and Teachers of 10 districts of Jammu Division at BHSS Gandhi Nagar and GHSS Shastri Nagar Jammu and in phase second, training sessions were organised at GHSS Kothi-Bagh Srinagar for the Resource Persons/Teachers drawn from 10 Districts of Kashmir Division.
The training to the participants was imparted on Eight Educational Kits, provided to schools by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha J&K during 2020. These kits include Early Mathematics Kit, Upper Primary Mathematics Kit, Upper Primary Science Kit without Microscope, Secondary Science Kit with Microscope, Secondary Mathematics Kit, Senior Secondary Mathematics Kit, Senior Secondary Physics Kit and Senior Secondary Biology Kit.
In his address, Project Director Samagra Shiksha Deep Raj emphasized on the need for the usage of the kit items in day-to-day classroom activities.
“Today when activity based pedagogy is considered as the best classroom transactional strategy for conceptual understanding of the students, the use of such kits has gained tremendous significance” he said. While sharing the initiatives being taken by the Department of School Education in general and Directorate of Samagra Shiksha in particular in continuing education of students amid Covid-19 pandemic, Deep Raj expressed his hope that the teachers will ensure the best use of these Kits while delivering online lectures and in classrooms once the Schools were opened. The Programme was coordinated by the Quality Section of Samagra Shiksha J&K.
